CielabCOLOURSHOP sells software, computers, printers, and accessories for printing related industries.

Consumables.com.au is our online print consumable website for digital printing inks, media, and protective coatings.

Most notably you may be very interested to keep an eye on our Consumables clearence and Hardware classified sections of those stores.

We run heavily discounted specials on a wide range of products, and these will continually change as we have customers list used products (we do this as a free service), or list our own Ex-Demo or clearence items. We plan to occasionally put an "easteregg promo" on there from time to time also so keep going back (Easter Egg refers to an un-advertised special that must be "found" within the website). We will alert you via our newsletter when a new EasterEgg goes online (but not where it is) so if you're not on our mailing list let us know.

Some parts of the website have become outdated or stale, and so we are making upgrades and improvements.

We have already made security upgrades to both online store/carts, and the forums site.
Next we will be moving the "Learn" section of this part of the website to the forums site also. This will enable us to significantly add to, and maintain this information to better service the industry with up to the minute colour management and workflow technology.

We are very excited to introduce you to Malcolm.

Malcolm Ross has been in the wide format supplies industry since the early days of drafting tables changed to the first HP & Encad wide format inkjet printers. His recent position was with one of our competitors for around 13 years in an internal sales / warehousing role, and he will be filling a similar role within the cielab team. Mal has an amazing knowledge of product and knows many people within the industry. We look forward to his expertise at stock control and hope that this brings even faster delivery times to our customers, please welcome him aboard if you have the luck to get him on the phone.

In November 2008 Nicholas Hellmuth (Flaar Reports) visited a digital signage printing company with more than two dozen wide-format inkjet printers with the goal to see how color management equipment works in the real world. The result is his “Site-visit Case Study with grand format solvent and UV-curable printers”.

Nicholas Hellmuth is a consultant and lecturer in wide format printing and lectured all over the world. He is also president and founder of FLAAR. In his recent report Nicholas Hellmuth describes the easy-of-use of color management software and devices in combination with many different UV-curable printers, solvent printers and textile printers. The most interesting part to end-users most probably is the explanation on cost benefits when using ICC profiles.

On February 26th and 27th Nicholas Hellmuth will be present at the In-House Show at WP Digital. Our new headquarters in Brisbane northern suburb "Brendale" couldn't have come soon enough.

Our new location gives us one of the larger warehouse and office facilities in the region, including our state-of-the-art "See-Lab" colour laboratory demonstrating colour workflow in action with high quality design, evaluation and output devices previously not readily on display.

We have branded our colour laboratory the "See-Lab" so that it reinforces our intentional selection of identity as cielab as both the central core colour space of colour management, but to also display that it is place to turn colour management into something tangible that you can see in action.

The See-Lab demonstrates one of the largest floor graphics we are aware of, at 8mtrs x 7.5mtrs it's definitely quite amazing and well worth seeing.

Earlier in June, cielab launched a new forums site in order to offer a new level of unique customer support frequently completely unavailable in the region.

The site is free for all professionals that require digital output accuracy to join and participate in, with cielab moderating it to strictly topic related posts regarding colour management or mentioned products. This includes member "user group" only sections for both BARBIERI electronic products, and Apple Mac Leopard 10.5 server. These sections are available only by request to restrict the member group to only those verified to have, use and know the related products ensuring interaction with only equivalent or experienced users. We've been kicking off the topics and discussions but you are welcome to get involved and get new topics running straight away.
With a large section on digital colour management focused into specific rip or printer categories, every user is bound to find a valuable tool in this free site.
