Earlier in June, cielab launched a new forums site in order to offer a new level of unique customer support frequently completely unavailable in the region. www.cielab.com.au/forums/ The site is free for all professionals that require digital output accuracy to join and participate in, with cielab moderating it to strictly topic related posts regarding colour management or mentioned products. This includes member "user group" only sections for both BARBIERI electronic products, and Apple Mac Leopard 10.5 server. These sections are available only by request to restrict the member group to only those verified to have, use and know the related products ensuring interaction with only equivilent or experienced users. We've been kicking off the topics and discussions but you are welcome to get involved and get new topics running straight away. With a large section on digital colour managent focused into specific rip or printer categories, every user is bound to find a valuable tool in this free site. Primary manufacturers have already become involved including HP, BARBIERI electronic, Onyx and more, so its not only cielab's colour expertise that will benefit your discussions, but you will be interacting directly with key contacts from most brands of rip and hardware manufacturers.

Cielab imports Australia's first BARBIERI electronic Spectro LFP RT for internal testing. The LFP (large format print) is a spectrophotometer like no other. It is capable of profiling rigid media up to 20mm thick for front or rear illumination by lighting the media exactly as the human eye would see it on a print. The most amazing thing is that its fully automated and very fast. Cielab is currently using the Spectro LFP exclusively for all our colour work and the results speak for themselves. Apple announces new MacBook Air

The worlds smallest notebook has been announced by Apple yesterday. Prices will start at AU$2499 for a 13 inch 1.6ghz configuration estimated to ship around the start of Feb. Aimed at the ultramobile market it is ideal for those always on the move. But don't mistake its nimble size as having no power. With an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a massive 2 Gigabytes of memory, the Air is actully a very powerful computer for its size. Cielab sponsors local brisbane race bike for coming season

cielab has been in discussion with Mitchell Mackinnon over sponsoring his Kawasaki ZX10 for the coming race season. Discussions were finalised today with cielab giving the go ahead. cielab director Michael Rooney said "Mitchell shows excellent potential and has already heavily invested in the setup of his ZX10 ready to race and we're glad to be able to help cover his race costs for the coming season".
Mitchell Mackinnon is the business manager for Team Moto Kawasaki (Bowen Hills - Brisbane).

There used to be 3 and now there are 2: With the merge of Xrite and Gretag Macbeth, and the sole appointment for the distribution of those products to a compettator to most resellers, it's hard to competewith the range and many assume there is no alternatives. cielab are extremely excited to intorduce you to a new major player in colour management in Australia & New Zealand: Barbieri have been producing equipment and software for the custom calibration and ICC profiling of digital print for some time now with big success in overseas markets, although with little exposure in this region. In the new partnership with cielab we see bigthings for the 2 companies in coming times. The range has unique features such as automated reading of printer targets up to 20mm thick, and most models will automatically read in both reflective and transmissive modes (something not on offer in the existing competative range at this stage that we are aware of).
